Bamboo flooring is popular in Vietnamese market now, however, there are still many customers who wonder about the product and would like to ask such a question posted on VnExpress, and below is the advice from architecter Doan Thanh Ha from H&P Architects.
Question
I have a need to install wooden floors for houses and visited some wood floor stores and saw bamboo flooring.
Answer (from Architecter Đoàn Thanh Hà – H&P Architects)
I have choiced bamboo floor for some customers and found that bamboo to be quite sustainable and cheaper than natural wood.
Regarding bamboo flooring, I recommend to use it because the material is made from 100% bamboo & glue (it is necessary to ensure the standard of glue does not affect the health of users).
The reality of industrial wood flooring (including only a few percent of wood, the rest are other compounds and materials) in Vietnam has many problems regarding the origin as well as the quality standards of accreditation. In Europe and developed countries, these standards are stricter.
“In my opinion, you should approach bamboo flooring products rather than lamilated wood floor because of the friendly and durable, flexible properties of bamboo. In addition, the surface of natural bamboo and wood flooring is now spread with a natural oil, although it is expensive but less harmful to humans, unlike before, wood must use PU paint very well. toxic.”
The preservation and maintenance of bamboo floors is similar to preserving and maintaining other types of floors. The durability of bamboo flooring is not long-term to verify because bamboo flooring appears in Vietnam not long ago. The cost for bamboo flooring is quite high compared to the average level of laminate flooring.
